Sequinova, a London-based biomaterials startup, introduced plant-based sequins at Stella McCartney's Autumn/Winter 2025 Paris Fashion Week show. This collaboration marks the first commercial use of these sustainable sequins, offering an alternative to fossil-derived plastics. Derived from sustainably sourced wood and utilizing a green chemical process, Sequinova's sequins debuted on two hand-embroidered mini dresses. The sequins will be commercially available later this year. The company is also developing bio-based colors to replace fossil-derived colorants. Regula, a developer of forensic devices, showcased document verification at the Intergraf Currency+Identity conference. In collaboration with NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti), Regula's molded lenses and optical filters were incorporated into fashion outfits representing Milanese characters. These elements were used as embellishments and accessories, highlighting the intersection of technology and creativity in fashion.
