The Museo della Moda e del Costume in Palazzo Pitti will host the exhibition "Moda in Luce 1925-1955. Alle origini del Made in Italy" from June 18 to September 28, 2025.

The exhibition, organized by Archivio Luce Cinecittà in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries and curated by Fabiana Giacomotti, will explore three decades of Italian fashion history. It aims to showcase the evolution of Italian fashion before its international recognition.

The exhibition features over fifty garments, accessories, and audiovisual contributions. It highlights the innovations in textile, aesthetic research, craftsmanship, and commercial strategies that shaped Italian fashion before the famous 1952 fashion show in the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti.

The exhibition will feature works from historical Maisons such as Ventura, Radice, and Fontana, alongside famous names like Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo. It will also include historical documentation, rare books, and restored documentaries.

The exhibition offers a comprehensive view of Italian fashion's origins, tracing its development through the lens of the Istituto Luce's film and photographic archives. It will also explore the relationships between Italian fashion and international trends before and after World War II.
