Two Asteroids to Safely Pass Earth on March 4, 2025

Edited by: Tasha S Samsonova

Two asteroids, 2025 DT4 and 2025 DG3, are scheduled to make a close approach to Earth on March 4, 2025. Asteroid 2025 DT4, approximately 110 feet wide and traveling at 64,805 km/h, will pass within 2,440,000 kilometers of Earth at 1:46 PM IST. The second asteroid, 2025 DG3, measuring 100 feet wide and moving at 28,883 km/h, will pass at a distance of 6,290,000 kilometers at 8:11 PM IST. NASA confirms that neither asteroid poses a threat to Earth, as neither meets the criteria to be classified as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (PHA). NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) continues to monitor near-Earth objects using telescopes like Pan-STARRS and the Goldstone Radar.
