Amaravati, India, is positioning itself as a future hub for quantum computing with plans to establish India's first Quantum Valley Park, targeted to be operational by January 2026. This initiative is driven by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, drawing inspiration from the success of Hyderabad's HITEC City.
The Andhra Pradesh government has formalized collaborations through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with major technology corporations, including IBM, TCS, and L&T. These partnerships are geared towards creating a leading center focused on advancing quantum technologies.
IBM is expected to deploy its advanced 156-qubit Quantum System Two, offering significant quantum computing capabilities within India. TCS will integrate quantum computing services with traditional computing systems, while L&T will provide engineering and project management expertise to attract startups to the quantum sector. These collaborations aim to cultivate a strong quantum ecosystem through research, education, and talent development, fostering innovation in sectors like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
