The Natural History Museum (NHM) in Vienna has launched a new permanent exhibition titled "Ice Age Children and Their World" in Hall 16, opening May 21, 2025. The exhibition shifts the focus from the adult perspective to explore the lives and experiences of children during the Ice Age.

The exhibition addresses questions such as: What was everyday life like for Ice Age children? What did their environment, home, food, art, and play mean to them? It aims to engage young audiences by presenting knowledge about the Ice Age in a tangible and playful way.

Visitors can discover how children contributed to Ice Age societies, with estimates suggesting they comprised a significant portion of these groups. The exhibition incorporates interactive displays and objects from the NHM collection to contextualize the daily lives of Ice Age children.
