Voyager 1 Reaches One Light-Day Distance From Earth

Edited by: gaya ❤️ one

Launched in September 1977, NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft reached a distance of one light-day from Earth in June 2025. This milestone means Voyager 1 is now approximately 25.9 billion kilometers from Earth.

Voyager 1 is currently near the heliopause, the boundary of the solar system where the sun's influence diminishes and interstellar space begins. The probe entered interstellar space in June 2025, continuing its journey beyond the solar system's edge.

During its mission, Voyager 1 has made significant discoveries, including detailed studies of Jupiter, Saturn, and their moons. It continues to conduct scientific measurements and is expected to end its operations in the early 2030s when its power runs out.

Voyager 1's mission and discoveries continue to inspire the scientific community and the public, contributing to our understanding of the universe.
