June Sky Wonders: Venus's Peak, Hercules Cluster, And Celestial Encounters

Astronomy enthusiasts can look forward to several celestial events in June. Early risers can view Venus at its maximum elongation around June 1st.

The globular cluster M13 in Hercules, 25,000 light-years away, will be visible with binoculars from June 2nd. On June 11th, the Strawberry Moon will be visible.

On June 17th, observe the Moon meeting Regulus, the brightest star in Leo. On June 23rd, the Moon will reach its closest point to Earth. On June 30th, the crescent Moon and Mars will appear as celestial neighbors.
