Tornado Touches Down Near Little Rock Air Force Base

Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

A brief EF0 tornado touched down north of Little Rock Air Force Base on Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service confirmed the event on Friday, detailing the storm's path and impact. The tornado touched down near Maddox Road around 3:53 p.m. Thursday. It moved northwest at approximately 45 mph for just over two miles, according to Willie Gilmore, a senior forecaster with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock. The storm remained on the ground for about four minutes. While the damage was limited to tree damage and downed limbs, the debris pattern confirmed rotation. The direction in which the trees fell was a key indicator of the tornado's presence.
