McAllen, Kingsville, Edinburg, and San Isidro also experienced the effects of the storms, though to a lesser extent.
Wind gusts reached up to 112 km/h, accompanied by one-inch hail. The storms moved southeast throughout the morning, with isolated showers and thunderstorms continuing into the afternoon. By 4:00 PM, much of the activity had subsided, with a 30-40% chance of rain remaining.
Earlier forecasts predicted the potential for severe storms with golf ball-sized hail and wind gusts up to 96 km/h. Residents were advised to take precautions while driving, such as reducing speed, using headlights, and allowing extra travel time.
