Volcanic activity is being observed at Campi Flegrei, Italy. Magma located 10 kilometers deep interacts with hydrothermal fluids and gases 3 kilometers below the surface, leading to ground uplift and seismic activity.
Carlo Doglioni, president of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), stated that while there's no imminent eruption, one is certain to occur in the future. Current efforts focus on monitoring anomalies and informing authorities and the public. A recent increase in ground velocity was promptly reported.
