Legendary director Steven Spielberg, whose cinematic achievements have grossed over $10 billion worldwide, has officially unveiled details for his upcoming science fiction feature, titled 'Disclosure Day'. Universal Pictures has locked in a release date for the ambitious film: June 12, 2026. This date marks a slight shift from the initially planned debut of May 15, 2026. Fans can anticipate the first glimpse of the movie, as the initial teaser trailer is scheduled to debut on December 16, 2025.

This new venture sees the 78-year-old Spielberg returning to the compelling territory of extraterrestrial life. This theme has been a hallmark of his career, previously explored in seminal works such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), and War of the Worlds (2005). Penning the screenplay for 'Disclosure Day' is David Koepp, a frequent collaborator of the director, known for his contributions to Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Adding to the film's pedigree, the musical score will be handled by John Williams, marking their 30th professional collaboration. This pairing alone signals a major cinematic event for audiences. The ensemble cast assembled for this project is equally impressive, featuring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell.

The narrative promises high stakes, centered around Blunt’s character, a meteorologist based in Kansas City. Spielberg himself is co-producing the feature alongside Kristie Macosko Krieger, operating under their banner, Amblin Entertainment. The promotional push has already begun subtly, with mysterious advertising billboards appearing in New York City, notably in Times Square, bearing the cryptic message, “Everything will be revealed,” alongside the date 12.06.26.
