New Interstellar Object A11pl3z Detected Entering Solar System: Astronomers Monitor Unusual Visitor

Edited by: Uliana S.

On July 2, 2025, the European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed the detection of a new interstellar object, A11pl3z, entering our Solar System.

First observed by NASA's ATLAS on July 1, 2025, A11pl3z is on a hyperbolic trajectory, indicating an origin outside our solar system. It is expected to make its closest approach to the Sun in October 2025, passing near Mars.

Estimated to be about 20 kilometers in diameter, A11pl3z shows no cometary activity. Astronomers worldwide are observing the object to gather data on its composition and origins.
