During the downsizing of federal employees, the existence of a classified FBI unit that studies UFOs was accidentally revealed.

This unit is a secret structure of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which for a long time remained hidden from the public, but recently received official confirmation of its existence.

Earlier it was reported that the Pentagon has a special unit called All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which deals with the study of UFO sightings by the military.

According to Politico, an FBI unit specializing in the study of anomalous phenomena operates independently of AARO with the support of the Pentagon. Such cooperation indicates the growing interest of the U.S. government in UFO research, despite the fact that the FBI has not yet disclosed information about the number of employees of this department and the timing of its work.

FBI officials have emphasized that their unit's activities are focused on national security issues, especially when there are indications of violations of federal law.

As the "Judicial-Legal Gazette" notes, information about the existence of such an FBI working group dealing with UFO issues has never been officially confirmed before.
