Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Khanh Hoa Province is significantly advancing its high-tech offshore aquaculture initiatives, aiming to achieve $1 billion in seafood exports by 2025. This transition involves moving from traditional methods to advanced technologies, supported by increased marine aquaculture license applications.

Enterprises in Khanh Hoa are investing heavily in industrial-scale marine farming using HDPE cages. Pilot projects in areas like Cam Lap commune have demonstrated promising results, showcasing profit margins between 112% and 172% which outperforms traditional wooden cage farming. These cages are often equipped with surveillance cameras and GPS tracking.

The province plans to expand high-tech marine farming to approximately 240 hectares by 2029, with a total investment exceeding VND 545 billion. This strategic move promises substantial economic value and aims to establish the sector as a key pillar of Vietnam's economy with the goal of $1 billion in seafood exports by 2025.
