Saildrone, a leader in maritime autonomy, has secured $60 million in funding led by EIFO to expand its European operations. This investment will establish a new European headquarters and operational hub in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The expansion aims to address urgent maritime security needs, particularly in protecting critical infrastructure like undersea cables and energy pipelines. Saildrone's unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) use advanced sensors and AI to provide real-time surveillance.
The first four Saildrone Voyagers will be deployed in the Baltic Sea in June 2025 under contract to the Danish Armed Forces. By 2026, the company plans to operate over 50 USVs across NATO, supporting missions from anti-submarine warfare to counter-drone operations, enhancing maritime security across the Baltic-North Sea corridor.
