Rincon de la Victoria Launches CREAMAR for Marine Protection

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Rincon de la Victoria has officially launched its CREAMAR volunteer group as part of the Marine Protection Network, a project initiated by the Aula del Mar Foundation. The municipality joined the network in 2025 to bolster marine conservation efforts along its coastline. Participants underwent specialized training to conduct environmental conservation actions. This initiative follows an agreement signed by Mayor Francisco Salado with the Aula del Mar Foundation, reinforcing the local government's commitment to environmental stewardship. Volunteers will assess biodiversity in the El Cantal Cliffs, focusing on the endangered Limonium malacitanum, a plant endemic to Malaga. Efforts will also target the protection and restoration of marine ecosystems, particularly in La Cala del Moral. The Marine Protection Network, coordinated by the Aula del Mar Foundation, is designed to respond to marine threats and organize restoration projects following UN guidelines.
