Warsaw is set to be adorned with the beauty and fragrance of thousands of roses as the Royal Łazienki Museum hosts the 41st Royal Rose Exhibition, titled "Royal Rose 2025." The event is scheduled to take place from August 22nd to August 24th, 2025, transforming the historic museum grounds into a vibrant display of floral artistry.
The exhibition will feature a diverse array of rose colors and varieties, presented by numerous exhibitors. Visitors can expect to see roses displayed both individually and in elaborate floral arrangements. A special competition will be held to award the most beautiful rose, with the public having a say in the selection.
The event program includes a series of enriching activities. On August 22nd, the Orangery Garden will host floral workshops and a floral show. The following day, August 23rd, a Rose Conference will be held in the Kubicki Stables, featuring lectures by experts on the history, cultivation, and symbolism of roses. This exhibition marks a significant revival of floral displays at the Royal Łazienki, continuing a tradition that dates back to the 19th century, with the first recorded flower exhibition at the museum in 1882.
The "Royal Rose 2025" is a collaborative effort between the Royal Łazienki Museum and the Scientific and Technical Association of Horticultural Engineers and Technicians (SITO). The rose holds deep cultural significance in Poland, symbolizing love, beauty, and national pride, and has been integral to Polish life, art, and literature throughout history.
Poland is recognized as a notable producer and exporter of roses, contributing to the national economy. The annual Rose Festival in Kutno, known as the "City of Roses," further underscores the flower's esteemed status. Additionally, the Rosarium in Silesian Park, Chorzów, established in 1968, has been acknowledged as one of the world's most beautiful rose gardens, housing approximately 35,000 rose bushes representing 300 different varieties.
