The Life Global project continues its vital work in 2025, focusing on the restoration of high-conservation-value areas within the northern Iberian Peninsula. This initiative aims to safeguard ecosystems against the escalating impacts of climate change.
Coordinated by the Universidade de Santiago, the Life Global project unites efforts across Galicia, Castilla y León, Euskadi, Navarra, and northern Portugal. The project's core mission involves the protection of ten priority habitats, ensuring the long-term health and resilience of these critical environments.
In the Mariñas Coruñesas, conservation activities are centered on protecting specific flora, including the Eryngium viviparum and Centaurium somedanum species. The project spans a total area of 1,321.53 hectares, demonstrating a significant commitment to preserving the region's biodiversity.
