Antarctic Anomalies: Bizarre Radio Signals Defy Physics, Hinting at New Particles

Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

Scientists in Antarctica have detected unusual radio signals originating from beneath the ice. These "bizarre signals" challenge current understanding of particle physics.

The signals were recorded by the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) experiment. The team was initially searching for neutrinos, but instead, they found pulses coming from unexpected directions.

The team is unsure of the source of the signals. One theory suggests they could be evidence of dark matter or a new type of particle interaction. Further research is planned with a new, more sensitive detector called PUEO.
