Alligator 'Mr. Pickles' Resides in Seminole Restaurant's Retention Pond

In Seminole, Florida, an alligator named "Mr. Pickles" has taken up residence in the retention pond behind a local restaurant. The alligator, which appeared during the 2024 hurricane season, has grown from approximately 2.5 feet to about 5 feet in length. Restaurant management reports that Mr. Pickles has not been a nuisance and remains a popular attraction among patrons. Efforts by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to relocate the alligator have been unsuccessful, as it retreats into storm drains when approached. The FWC advises maintaining a safe distance and not feeding the alligator to prevent habituation. Residents and visitors are reminded to exercise caution around bodies of water, keep pets leashed, and avoid feeding or approaching alligators.
