In June 2025, India's share in global equity market capitalization climbed to 4%, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services. This increase signifies a recovery from a 16-month low of 3.6% in February 2025, demonstrating renewed investor confidence.

India's position among the top 10 contributors to the global equity market highlights the strength of its stock markets. The United States leads with 48.2%, followed by China at 8.0%. India holds the fifth position, surpassing countries like Canada and the UK.

Over the last decade, India's market capitalization has steadily grown. The current 4% share is significantly higher than the 15-year average of 2.8%. This recovery follows a recent high of 4.6% in late 2024, indicating the dynamic nature of global equity markets. (Source: Motilal Oswal Financial Services, June 2025)
