Mariah Carey, the iconic pop star, is making a musical comeback with the release of her new single, "Type Dangerous." This marks the beginning of a new chapter, as she also announced her 16th studio album, her first since 2018's "Caution."

Carey expressed her excitement about releasing "Type Dangerous," stating that she has been working hard on new music. The song features a sample of "Eric B. Is President" by Eric B. & Rakim, and includes a collaboration with Anderson.Paak.

The song is described as a statement on modern female empowerment, blending glamour, independence, and romantic risk. The music video for "Type Dangerous" is expected soon, directed by Joseph Kahn, who also directed her classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

In addition to the new music, Carey will be honored with the BET Ultimate Icon Award. This award recognizes her decades of groundbreaking contributions to music, entertainment, and community impact. The award ceremony will take place on June 9th.

Adding to the excitement, Carey will also headline Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 15th. This marks a busy and significant week for the singer.
