Michael Jackson's Rhinestone-Embellished Sock Sells for Over $8,000 at French Auction

Edited by: gaya ❤️ one

A single glittering sock, once worn by Michael Jackson during his 1997 "HIStory World Tour" performance in Nîmes, France, has been sold at auction for €7,688 (approximately $8,822). The off-white sock, adorned with rhinestones, was discovered near Jackson's dressing room after the concert. Despite signs of age, including yellowed rhinestones and stains, the item was described by auctioneer Aurore Illy as "an exceptional object— even a cult one for Michael Jackson fans." Initially estimated to fetch between €3,000 and €4,000, the sock's sale underscores the enduring appeal of Jackson's memorabilia. Similar items have previously attracted high bids; for instance, a glittery glove worn by Jackson during his first "moonwalk" performance in 1983 sold for $350,000 in 2009. Jackson, who passed away in 2009, continues to captivate fans worldwide, with his memorabilia remaining highly sought after.
