Zodia Custody to Secure Tokenized Emeralds

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

In a move bridging traditional finance and the blockchain world, Zodia Custody, backed by major banks, will secure tokenized emeralds. This partnership with GEMx, a Swiss fintech firm, allows institutional investors to gain fractional ownership in a diversified emerald portfolio.

The tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) is gaining traction, with physical emeralds stored in vaults. These emeralds have seen an average annual appreciation of approximately 9%. Regular independent evaluations are conducted on these assets.

GEMx's CEO, Paul Poltner, highlighted the importance of the partnership with Zodia Custody. He emphasized the goal of bringing institutional trust and stability to the gemstone investment market. Poltner stated that their structure offers real-world value through secure, auditable digital innovation, historically resistant to inflation.
