USDC Launches on XRPL, Expanding Stablecoin Ecosystem

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

June 12, 2025 - Today, USDC has launched on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), expanding its stablecoin presence. This integration streamlines USDC use and opens new financial use cases.

As of press time, approximately $2 million worth of USDC had been minted on the network. This expansion follows Circle's recent integration of USDC into World Chain through its upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2). USDC now operates natively across 22 blockchains.

The integration eliminates the need for third-party bridges, improving access to liquidity and reducing settlement times. USDC is the second-largest US dollar-backed stablecoin, with over $61 billion in market capitalization. Over 73% of this supply is based on Ethereum and Solana.

The XRPL now hosts five fiat-backed stablecoins, including USDC. Ripple believes this will drive new institutional interest. Ripple noted that XRPL will continue to roll out compliance-ready features.
