US House Committee Advances Digital Asset Clarity Act

On Tuesday, the US House Agriculture Committee voted to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act. The vote, which took place in the United States, moves the bill closer to becoming law.

The committee approved the CLARITY Act with a 47-6 vote, aiming to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets. Committee Chair GT Thompson announced the bill would be sent to the House for consideration.

The CLARITY Act seeks to clarify rules for digital asset companies in the US, determining whether investment vehicles fall under the SEC or CFTC. The Senate is also expected to vote on the GENIUS Act, which concerns stablecoin regulation.
