In Thailand, on June 20, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) blocked five cryptocurrency exchanges, including Bybit and OKX, due to unlicensed operations and money laundering concerns. This action is part of Thailand's ongoing efforts to regulate the cryptocurrency industry. The SEC had previously amended criteria for utility tokens in March 2025 to enhance investor protection.
