Bitmain Announces U.S. Expansion Amid Trade Tensions

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

Bitmain Technologies Ltd., a leading manufacturer of cryptocurrency mining hardware, has announced plans to establish its first U.S. production facility. The company intends to set up operations in either Texas or Florida, with production expected to commence in early 2026. This strategic move aims to enhance delivery and repair services for U.S. customers and mitigate the impact of trade tariffs on Chinese-made mining equipment.

The decision to expand into the U.S. aligns with the broader trend of Chinese technology firms seeking to localize production in response to escalating trade tensions. By establishing a domestic manufacturing base, Bitmain aims to streamline its supply chain and reduce reliance on overseas operations. The facility is expected to create approximately 250 local jobs, contributing to the U.S. economy and strengthening the domestic cryptocurrency mining infrastructure.

Bitmain's expansion into the U.S. market reflects a significant shift in the global cryptocurrency mining industry, highlighting the growing importance of domestic production capabilities in the face of evolving trade policies and market dynamics.
