Nova Labs COO Highlights Decentralized Telecom Benefits, AT T Partnership at Consensus 2025

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

Toronto, Canada - At Consensus 2025, Frank Mong, COO of Nova Labs, underscored the financial advantages of decentralized telecom infrastructure for both small businesses and large telecom corporations. He pointed out that local operators can generate revenue by hosting wireless hotspots, thereby expanding network coverage.

Mong explained that telecom companies can leverage Helium Network's telemetry to reduce operational costs and improve coverage in underserved areas. He highlighted the cost-effectiveness of Helium's approach, noting that setting up a single telecom tower can cost around $300,000, while Helium boasts a substantial network of hotspots.

Helium's partnerships are expanding its reach. In April 2025, Helium partnered with AT&T to provide users with seamless access to the Helium Network. With over 95,000 mobile hotspots in the U.S. and 284,053 active IoT hotspots globally, Nova Labs aims to extend its success through strategic partnerships, enhancing network resilience and delivering real-world value via blockchain technology.

This innovative use of decentralized physical infrastructure networks exemplifies how blockchain technology can enhance resilience against outages and disruptions while delivering real-world value.
