Meme Coins Surge: WIF Leaps 20% as Solana Tokens Rebound

In the last 24 hours, DOGE and PEPE, top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap, increased by 3% and 9% respectively, while Bitcoin rose by about 2%. However, Solana-based animal meme coins like Dogwifhat (WIF), Popcat (POPCAT), Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT), and Moo Deng (MOODENG) are rebounding from double-digit losses of the last 7 days, outperforming the top memes. According to CoinGecko data, each has gained at least 10% in the last 24 hours, led by WIF, which jumped 20% to $1.02, still nearly 79% off its March 2024 all-time high. Established meme coins on other chains are also showing gains. The Ethereum-based SPX6900 increased by 12.9% to a $1.04 billion market cap in the last 24 hours, gaining in the last week, unlike other meme coins. Ethereum's Mog Coin (MOG) has added 15.5% in the last 24 hours. Hyperliquid's PURR token gained nearly 38.7% in the last 24 hours. Overall, the meme coin category has managed just a 3.1% gain during that time, remaining down nearly 10% over the last week.
