On July 1, 2025, Botanix Labs launched its mainnet, representing a major advancement in connecting decentralized finance (DeFi) with the Bitcoin ecosystem. This launch is poised to influence the global crypto market by boosting Bitcoin's programmability.

The mainnet boasts reduced block times, dropping from 10 minutes to just five seconds, and offers average transaction fees of $0.02. Botanix functions through a federation of 16 independent node operators, including Galaxy, Fireblocks, and Alchemy, with aspirations to onboard over 100 operators by 2026.

Botanix also unveiled "Bitcoin 2100," an interactive experience designed to allow users to explore DeFi on Bitcoin. This launch underscores Botanix's dedication to decentralization and security, empowering users to conduct transactions, lending, staking, and other financial activities directly on Bitcoin.
