These wallets, untouched since April 2011, each held 10,000 BTC. The initial transfer occurred when Bitcoin was priced around $0.78 per coin. The funds were moved to new addresses on July 3, 2025.

The activation of these wallets significantly impacted the Bitcoin network's Coin Days Destroyed (CDD) metric. Each transfer destroyed over 52 million coin days, collectively reaching over 104 million coin days. As of July 4, 2025, Bitcoin is trading at $108,124.

The movement of these dormant coins has sparked discussions about potential market implications. However, no Bitcoin has been sent to known crypto exchanges. The identity of the wallet holders remains unknown.
