Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

In 2025, Bitcoin continues to demonstrate resilience. Just three weeks ago, the leading cryptocurrency reached a new all-time high of $112,000. Following a correction, the market is now showing positive signs, with Bitcoin currently trading around $107,000. Simultaneously, Bitcoin's dominance has surged to an eight-year high, which analysts interpret as a sign of an increasingly mature market structure. (Source: Clickout Media, 2025)

Bitcoin's dominance has reached an eight-year high of 72.5%. A year after the fourth Bitcoin halving, the US asset management firm Fidelity has provided a detailed interim assessment, concluding that Bitcoin has structurally strengthened, even though the price increase has lagged behind expectations from previous cycles. The focus of the current analysis is the increasing market dominance of the digital asset. According to Fidelity, this dominance, adjusted for stablecoins, now stands at approximately 72.5%. This marks Bitcoin's highest market share since March 2017, despite recent fluctuations around the $100,000 mark. Senior Analyst Daniel Gray stated that Bitcoin is increasingly decoupling from the volatility of the altcoin market. While Ethereum and Solana have lost significant market share since the halving, Bitcoin is expanding its leading position. (Source: Clickout Media, 2025)

Furthermore, according to Fidelity, the continuous expansion of the mining infrastructure is bullish. The Bitcoin hashrate reached over 1 zettahash per second multiple times in April 2025, a clear sign of long-term confidence in the network. At the same time, the so-called hash price, or the profitability for miners, is falling significantly. Nevertheless, operators continue to invest, even though the reward per block was halved to 3.125 BTC in the halving. (Source: Clickout Media, 2025)

According to Fidelity, the rising difficulty and the ongoing expansion of capacities indicate a robust foundation. The current phase is possibly characterized less by quick profits and more by structural maturation. Fidelity sees Bitcoin as an increasingly established asset with a growing role in institutional portfolio management. (Source: Clickout Media, 2025)
