Ethereum developers have once again postponed the Pectra upgrade, now scheduled for launch on May 7. Originally anticipated by the Ethereum community in late April, this upgrade aims to enhance user-friendliness, scalability, and efficiency. The Pectra update, initially planned for late 2024, has faced repeated delays. This update will allow accounts to pay with ERC20 tokens. Validator functionality will be improved, reducing activation time for new validators from 12 hours to 13 minutes and raising the validator limit to 2,048 Ethereum. These changes aim to fine-tune processes, uphold decentralization, protect privacy, and ensure sustainable efficiency within the Ethereum network.
