Telegram has partnered with xAI, Elon Musk's AI company, to integrate Grok AI into its messaging platform. The one-year deal, announced on May 28, 2025, involves Telegram receiving $300 million in cash and equity from xAI.
In addition to the upfront payment, Telegram will also receive 50% of the revenue generated from xAI subscriptions made through the Telegram app. Grok AI is expected to be available to Telegram's users starting this summer.
Pavel Durov, Telegram's founder, highlighted that this partnership will provide users with cutting-edge AI technology and strengthen Telegram's financial position. The integration aims to bring AI-powered features to Telegram's extensive user base, which has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users in 2025.
