Honor to Invest $10 Billion in AI, Deepens Collaboration with Google

Chinese smartphone maker Honor pledges to invest $10 billion in artificial intelligence over five years. Honor aims to become an "AI device ecosystem company," expanding beyond smartphones to AI-powered PCs, tablets, and wearables. CEO James Li envisions a system where various AI devices from different partners can seamlessly interact. Honor will use Google Gemini tech for AI features and commit to seven years of Android and security updates for its Magic series flagship smartphones. The company's smartphone market share outside China was 2.3% in 2024, according to IDC data.
