Goldman Sachs Names Maliah Global Investment Banking Chair

Goldman Sachs has appointed Raghav Maliah as the global chairman of investment banking, effective July 2, 2025. This strategic move aims to strengthen the firm's presence in the Asia Pacific region and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Maliah, currently co-head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in Asia Pacific and head of the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Group in Asia ex-Japan, will continue in these roles. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 and has been a key figure in expanding the firm's footprint in the Asia Pacific.

The stock price of Goldman Sachs (GS) is currently trading at $706.46, reflecting investor confidence in the firm's strategic initiatives. This appointment follows other recent leadership changes in the Asia ex-Japan M&A sector.
