Mastercard Unveils Major Tech Hub in Pune, India

Mastercard has inaugurated its largest global Tech Hub in Pune, India, covering nearly half a million square meters and accommodating over 6,000 employees. This facility will enhance Mastercard's technology operations, focusing on critical areas such as payment safety and cybersecurity.

Located at Bluegrass Business Park in Yerwada, the new hub is part of Mastercard's strategic commitment to India, where the company has operated for over 40 years. The Pune site will collaborate with other Mastercard hubs worldwide to develop innovative technologies that support economic growth.

The launch aligns with India's 'Viksit Bharat' vision, aiming to transform the nation into a fully developed economy by 2047. The Pune Tech Hub will contribute to local initiatives, including financial inclusion and secure online transactions.

Ed McLaughlin, Mastercard's president and chief technology officer, emphasized the hub's role in the company's global strategy and its commitment to empowering India's digital economy. Gautam Aggarwal, division president for South Asia, highlighted the significance of this investment in supporting India's digitization goals.

The facility features sustainable design elements, including solar power and TRUE Platinum certification, showcasing Mastercard's dedication to environmentally responsible growth. The campus is designed to foster collaboration and creativity, with modern workspaces and wellness amenities.
