Schumacher's Ferrari F2001 sold for nearly $17.4 million at Monaco auction

Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F2001, chassis 211, fetched nearly $17.4 million at auction. The sale, conducted by RM Sotheby's, took place in Monaco during the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This particular car is nicknamed "the Schumacher crown jewel." Schumacher drove this Ferrari to victory at the 2001 Monaco Grand Prix. He also secured the World Championship title that season with it. It remains the only car with which the German driver achieved this double victory. Furthermore, Schumacher won the Hungarian Grand Prix with this Ferrari, securing the Constructors' title for Ferrari in 2001. RM Sotheby's noted that chassis 211, the most sought-after of all F2001s, underwent a major factory overhaul in 2023.
