This particular "Plexi" nose model is one of only two ever produced in this distinctive color, making it a highly sought-after vehicle for collectors. The car's history is closely tied to Belgian motorsport, having been originally purchased by the well-known Belgian racing driver Baron Hughes "Hugh" de Fierlant, who competed in events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Baron de Fierlant owned the Ferrari for many years, contributing to its well-documented provenance. The car has since undergone a comprehensive restoration, meticulously returning it to its original factory specifications. This included a repaint in the correct Avorio shade and a sympathetic retrim of its Beige Scuro leather interior. The auction is a key event within the Zoute Grand Prix Car Week in Belgium, an event expected to showcase around 70 significant collector cars and draw international enthusiasts.
