Lionel Messi's favorite goal, his header in the 2009 Champions League final against Manchester United, is being immortalized as a unique AI art piece. The artwork, created by Refik Anadol, will be auctioned off to benefit various charities, including UNICEF.

Messi himself selected this goal from his illustrious career of over 800 goals. He considers it special despite having scored many more beautiful and valuable goals. The artwork will be unveiled by Christie's on June 11, with a public exhibition and auction running from July 15-22.

The artwork captures the moment when Messi leaped to score against Manchester United. The goal put Barcelona up 2-0 in the 70th minute, securing their Champions League victory. According to Christie's, this one-of-a-kind piece has the potential to break sales records.

Anadol's AI art integrates biosensing technologies and advanced AI systems trained on data from the event. He describes it as an exploration of human intent, memory, and motion, transforming data into emotion. Messi expressed excitement about seeing his goal transformed into a unique piece of art by Anadol.

Proceeds from the auction will support multiple nonprofits, including the Inter Miami CF Foundation's partnership with UNICEF. This initiative combines sports, art, and philanthropy to make a global impact.
