Deepinder Goyal Commits $25 Million to 'Continue Research' Fund for Fundamental Longevity Studies

Deepinder Goyal, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eternal—the holding company overseeing Zomato and Blinkit—has committed substantial personal capital to advance fundamental investigations into the biology of human longevity.

Goyal has earmarked $25 million USD to significantly expand his existing initiative, "Continue Research." This endeavor, which began as a dedicated research project approximately two years ago, is entirely financed by Goyal's private resources. This significant investment underscores the escalating global interest in extending the period during which humans can function healthily.

"Continue Research" is deliberately structured not as a conventional technology startup, but rather as a specialized research team combined with a seed fund. Its primary mandate is to provide crucial backing to scientists globally who are tackling the profound questions surrounding the mechanisms of aging. Goyal holds a strong conviction that the limited duration of human life fosters "short solutions" and constricts societal thinking—a phenomenon he has identified in interviews as a critical challenge facing modern civilization.

This multi-decade mission, as envisioned by Goyal, presents a unique opportunity to fundamentally shift the public perception of the future. The core objective of the initiative is to prolong the healthy functioning of individuals, thereby encouraging collective decision-making processes that adopt a much longer-term perspective.

The initiative directs capital toward research domains often overlooked by traditional funding models, which typically prioritize treatments for specific diseases rather than addressing the root causes of senescence. While other high-net-worth individuals are also backing cellular rejuvenation projects, Goyal's personal contribution emphasizes the pursuit of fundamental levers capable of altering the entire trajectory of human longevity. "Continue Research" aims to act as a catalyst, supporting nascent teams focused on optimizing health and preventative wellness. This includes critical areas such as cellular regeneration, metabolic health, and various other facets of longevity biology.

Although global investment in biotechnology focused on longevity has surged into the billions in recent years, there remains a pressing need for "radical funding strategies" to support groundbreaking, albeit high-risk, research. Private capital injections like this establish an important precedent, drawing broader attention to scientific pursuits that seek not merely to extend life, but critically, to compress the period of infirmity, ensuring a higher overall quality of life. Significantly, Goyal has stated that all findings generated by the project are intended to be made openly accessible to the entire scientific community.
