Tel Aviv beaches receive blue flag status for 13th year

Edited by: Елена 11

Tel Aviv's thirteen beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for the 13th consecutive year. This international eco-label recognizes beaches and marinas that meet high environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility standards.

The Blue Flag program, managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), certifies nearly 5,000 locations worldwide annually. Tel Aviv's commitment to sustainable coastal practices is underscored by this achievement.

Certified beaches include HaTzuk North, HaTzuk South, and others. The city actively reduces single-use plastics through awareness campaigns and bylaws. These efforts ban disposable plastic bags and utensils at bathing beaches.

EcoOcean, a nonprofit of scientists and environmentalists, implements the Blue Flag program in Israel. This organization ensures ongoing compliance and excellence for certified locations.
