The Philippines is set to launch its Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) program in 2025, aiming to attract remote workers and boost the country's tourism and economy. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. authorized the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to issue these visas, targeting foreign nationals working remotely for companies outside the Philippines.
The DNV allows holders to reside and work remotely in the Philippines for up to one year, with the possibility of renewal. The program is expected to begin in late June 2025, following Executive Order No. 86. This initiative aligns with the Philippine government's commitment to promoting tourism, economic development, and digital innovation.
To qualify for the DNV, applicants must be at least 18 years old, demonstrate proof of remote work using digital technology, and show sufficient income generated outside the Philippines. They must also possess a clean criminal record and have health insurance valid for the duration of their stay. The Philippines aims to position itself as a competitive destination for the global community of remote workers through this program.
