IKEA has expanded its presence in the hospitality sector with the opening of Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in April 2025. This marks IKEA's first hotel in the Canary Islands. Managed by Sarton Canarias, the property distinguishes itself from the IKEA Hotell in Sweden by foregoing the brand's signature aesthetic.
The boutique hotel features over 20 rooms and offers amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, garden, and terrace. It is located a short walk from Las Alcaravaneras Beach, providing convenient access to local attractions. The hotel aims to offer a blend of comfort and local charm, with room rates starting at approximately €130 per night, including breakfast.
In addition to Las Dunas, Sarton Canarias is developing Las Vegas de Ciudad Jardín Suites, adding 21 more rooms to their portfolio. This expansion reflects IKEA's strategic interest in exploring real estate and hospitality, with a focus on smaller, centrally located hotels in urban settings. The hotel is located in a renovated building dating back to 1967 at Calle Maestro Valle 7.
