Goa Promotes Tourism in Kazakhstan

Goa Tourism recently took center stage at the Kazakhstan-India Tourism Business Forum in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on June 23, 2025. The forum aimed to boost tourism exchanges and expand cooperation between the two countries.

Organized by the Almaty Region in partnership with the Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan, the event drew over 100 participants. These included tour operators, airlines, and government officials, highlighting the importance of the event.

Goa was presented as a prime destination for Kazakh tourists, known for its beaches and vibrant culture. This focus aims to increase tourism and create economic opportunities for both nations.

Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism for Goa, emphasized the state's commitment to regenerative tourism. He highlighted the #GlowOnArrival campaign, inviting travelers to experience Goa's monsoons through various activities.

The forum also saw the proposal of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Goa Tourism and the Almaty Region. This agreement would focus on promoting tourism and exchanging best practices in sustainable tourism.

The event also featured presentations from the Indian Railway Corporation and several Indian states. They showcased infrastructure developments and unique travel circuits, with Goa receiving special attention.

Representatives from Kazakhstan introduced the diverse tourism offerings of the Almaty Region. Air Astana shared updates on new flight routes, emphasizing the potential for Indian tourists.

This collaboration signifies a promising step towards strengthening tourism ties between India and Kazakhstan. Goa Tourism is leading this initiative, paving the way for increased travel and cultural exchange.
