Andalusia's coastline has been recognized for its environmental excellence in 2025, with numerous beaches awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certification. This international accolade signifies adherence to high standards in water quality, safety, environmental education, and management.
In Almería, 35 beaches received the Blue Flag, including El Descargador in Mojácar, Pozo del Esparto, and Quitapellejos-Palomares in Cuevas del Almanzora. These additions reflect ongoing improvements in water quality and coastal management.
Malaga province expanded its Blue Flag beaches to 45, with five new additions: Carvajal in Benalmádena, Los Monteros in Marbella, Calahonda in Mijas, La Carihuela in Torremolinos, and Las Dunas in Torrox.
Cádiz province also saw progress, with Puerto de Sotogrande in San Roque earning its first Blue Flag.
These recognitions underscore Andalusia's commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship, enhancing its appeal as a premier coastal destination.
