Discover the Untouched Beauty of Marais-Vernier, France

Edited by: Елена 11

For true nature lovers, the Marais-Vernier is a fabulous treasure. This 4,500-hectare wetland in northern Eure, located on a former meander of the Seine, consists of wet meadows, marshes, reedbeds, canals, ponds, peat bogs, and orchards.

Since the 1970s, the site has become a national nature reserve. It has integrated into the Boucles de la Seine Normande Regional Natural Park. It was classified as a Natura 2000 zone and designated, on December 18, 2015, along with the Risle Maritime Valley, as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention.

Forming a kind of natural amphitheater, it attracts more and more tourists each year. However, it is sometimes complicated to walk there, between private properties, reedbeds, or other hunting areas. Explore this unique destination!
