Amelia Lupascu, a 16-year-old student from Dublin, has won the 2025 Eurekas Science Award. Her project, "Through Another Eyes," explores how animals perceive the world differently from humans. Her cat, Zorro, inspired the project.
Amelia's research focuses on how animals use senses like sound, heat, and magnetic fields. She found that cats are dichromatic, seeing mostly blue and green. This discovery sparked her interest in other animals' unique sensory abilities.
The Eurekas competition encourages students to explore physics. This year, it received 274 submissions. Amelia, who was a runner-up last year, is excited about her future in science.
