Going to the beach with a dog: rules and tips

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Sharing beach moments with your dog is a summer pleasure for many owners. However, it's important to follow rules and take precautions to ensure your furry friend's safety and well-being.

It is recommended to contact the local tourist office for precise information on dog-friendly beaches and the periods allowed.

Dogs can quickly get dehydrated. Always bring fresh water and a bowl for your pet.

Go to the beach early in the morning or late in the day to avoid the hottest hours. Make sure your dog has a shady spot and a towel or mat to rest on.

Some dogs aren't naturally drawn to water. Never force them to swim. After swimming, always rinse your dog with fresh water to remove salt and sand. Then, dry their ears well to prevent ear infections.

Keep your dog under control to avoid disturbing other beachgoers. Always pick up after your dog and throw waste in the appropriate bins.

Always check local regulations before going to the beach and make sure your dog is welcome. By following these guidelines, you and your companion can fully enjoy pleasant moments by the water.
